Stuck Filler Tab

Hey guys, just acquired an XM-24 and I want to convert it to tip up carry, but the filler tab that currently sits in the tip up position is stuck in there pretty good after taking the screws off. Seeing that it sits pretty flush in the scale, and there are no gaps whatsoever to dig into (darn you fit and finish!) any ideas on how to get it out? I really want to change my clip position. I hate tip down carry.

Thanks all

BTDT, for a number of guys here, take a small hex wrench just small enough to fit in the filler tab hole and pry it out.

Congrats! They are all that way. You don't wanna go digging and risk a scratch. Take an "awl" or something like it put a little electrical tape down on the tab and poke the awl in one of the screw holes.
They actually respond better to linear force than prying force almost as if slight upward and sliding motion.

Thanks everyone. Finally got it. Had to find a small hex wrench that was stout enough and thick enough to fit right into the holes and just leverage it out. Thanks for the advice guys!

Glad you figured out a method. I just place one of the screws back into the filler (be sure not to screw it into the scale), then use some needlenose or similar to grab the screw. Filler comes right out. No scratches or issues.
