First thing that really caught my eye today was this tree in full blossom. What I found unusual was that the tree had actually fallen over and all the branches were growing vertical off it like mini trees ~
The Western white fawn lilies were everywhere ~
As were the Hendersons shooting stars ~
All these flowers turned Snicker quite giddy !
Lots of Fiddleheads around to ~
Check out this giant Wood ants nest I came across !
I climbed on it to take a pic but didn't stay long !!!
My knife as usual !
My favourite wild edible has also made an appearance, Miners Lettuce ~
While I was out today I figured I'd also do a little video to show you the difference Balsam sap makes when added to other tinder. I used some slightly damp Old mans beard to make the point. You will see that I struck the ferro-rod maybe 10 times on the un-treated OMB but I could easily have struck it 50 times without it catching fire...all I'd have achieved would have been to wear my ferro-rod right down !
