The recurring theme of this forum is the kindness and generosity that exhibits itself time and again. This time Stuart ( D Duckdog ) has outdone himself.

Last year he posted a photo of a most unusual knife. It sent me on a search that came up empty. A year later when he posted it again I mentioned that I would sure love to be able to acquire it if he was willing. Believe it or not he had a second one in its original box with the sheath and catalog enclosure and might consider letting it go.

Well, with a recent birthday I again asked if he would consider selling one so I could buy myself a present. Without hesitation he sent it to me as a gift. What a treasure, both Stuart and the knife.

It is an Olsen model 511 lockback folding knife with a 2.25" blade and a 3.75" brass body with stag scales. Tang stamped with Olsen OK, H.C. MI. 511. With original leather sheath with the Olsen OK snap. Made in Howard City, MI., circa 1970's.

I know Olsens, but have never seen one like that. Congrats on a cool birthday gift, and good on Stuart for gifting it to you!

Thanks again Stuart. And Glenn as far as I can find it may be one of only two folders he made.

Congratulations and Happy Birthday Alan! :) Stuart your all right my friend! Just for that lunch is on me Wednesday!!! ;)

Well done Stuart mate!- you picked a GREAT guy to gift a knife to! Those Olsens are very well regarded Knives, the Fixed Blades are looked upon in the same light as Moran and Randall- although the following wasnt as strong for some reason- Marketing who knows, Randalls fame shot up after a reporter did a write -up on a soldier carrying one of his ( I think from memory ).
I havent seen a wee Olsen like this before though!

Wow! What a cool knife! Most excellent of you, Stuart. Congrats to you, Alan!

...and Happy Birthday!
