These are natural blocks of Eastern hard maple. They are dense and hard, many years dry and ready to use. All of these are large full size blocks. Every one is completely solid and defect free as far as I can tell. No visible splits, checks or cracks anywhere.
This really is some of the best figure I have EVER seen. Each block is absolutely packed, end to end, side to side and front to back, with full BOLD flame tiger stripe figure and curl. It really stands out in any direction and can be easily seen in any lighting. Premium, 5A, Exhibition grade......whatever you want to call it, this is it.
These can take a beautiful oil finish either natural or stained/dyed. Here I've sacrificed a block from this same batch. I've contoured and sanded it to 1000 grit and stained it with Fiebing's brown leather dye on half and left half natural. Then I finished the whole piece with an oil finish to show the beauty and boldness of a finished piece, whether left natural or stained.
Price on these blocks is only $35 shipped to the US. I prefer paypal, but can work something else out if necessary. US sales only, apologies in advance to those outside the US. The post office has just made it too expensive and too much hassle to ship wood blocks outside the country.
Each block measures at least 1 15/16" x 5 1/4" x 15/16" to 1" Most are just a hair under 1"
