Hi Guys! I'm letting go of Two stellar pieces - They've never been used, worn, sharpened, anything. Just as I received it from Ben Akin "Bigin" in October 2018 & Vojta Destensky in March 2019. One really good American knife maker, & one really good maker from the Czech Republic.
My PayPal is scotts@reeve-knight.com Price includes CONUS shipping = USPS Priority {the only way to mail stuff IMO}, & PP Fees. You can always F&F me via PayPal, your choice.
First up is the San Mai Bowie by Vojta...I bought this for $480, I'm selling it for $320 so I'm not doing this again in two weeks THIS IS SOLD!!.
steel : 5 layers tool steel 59-60 HRc. 5mm. (0.20 ")
total length : 320mm. (12.6 ")
blade length : 195mm. (7.67")
handle : Arizona Ironwood, girraf bone
grind: hollow
guard : stainless steel
pins : stainless / elforin
sheath : Cow leather right-handed
I'm not sure why I'm letting this go....same for the frame-handle, other than I'm buying a bunch of other knives & that's just what us knife nuts do. This is a special one, & I'm sure I'll regret this a year from now...yet I'm still selling it - my wife's right, I'm not as smart as I think I am! Anyhow, this knife feels amazing in hand, it's elegant, it's wicked, it's classic & contemporary at the same time...the polished San Mai looks so damn cool in person...& it's crazy sharp - be careful.
Next up is the Frame-Handle Bowie. Look it up if you don't know what that means....really cool construction method, & this example is very well done - All of the pins are just perfectly smooth, even, love it. This knife feels great in hand, due to the simple shape...but it's not just simple, it's correct - Ben Akin is "Bigin", & he builds knives that can go all day, knives you can actually use the eff out of if you so choose, but if you're like me, & you mostly collect knives....that is, most of the knives you own stay pristine, the design/materials/fit-n-finish elevate his knives/sheaths to that level as well. Ya want a "safe queen", boom....ya want a really nice knife that you can actually cut stuff with all day long, boom.
This is 01 Steel, 3/16" stock, 6.75" blade {1 13/16" @ widest spot}, 11 9/16" OAL. The edge is, you guessed it, quite sharp.
The Sheath design is called a Mexican pouch style. It's all hand tooled & stitched. The leather is dyed to match the knife, & it's got a cool metal compass mounted to the front.
I paid $400 in October 2018, I'm letting her go for $211,THIS IS SOLD again, I'm going low to get this over with quick - thanks guys.
Please reply within this thread something like "I'll take it", as I'll get an email alert when you do....if you only PM me, I won't see it for a while.
