Available until I regain my sanity is a drop dead gorgeous Stefan Albert stainless damasteel folder beautifully scrimshawed in a tiger motif. The knife has never been used or carried and is exactly as received direct from the maker--basically flawless. If you have seen any of Stefan's work either here or on his website, you know how incredibly talented he is. This knife absolutely shows it in every way; it is simply stunning.
In my past life, I have drawn and photographed many animals, among them tigers. One thing I occasionally see with scrimshaw is that some part of the main subject is out of proportion to the rest of the subject. I also have seen what I will call "not the best" subject matter depictions--the subject's size or placement relative to the background is out of proportion or there is an inaccurate, unrealistic looking depiction of the subject itself. The scrimshaw on this knife suffers from none of that. Look at it closely. That is part of what drew me to this knife to begin with and I think it's worth mentioning here.
The steel is a stainless damast steel from Sweden at 61 HRC. The handle is beautifully scrimshawed mammoth ivory inlays. The blade is 3-5/32" long and the OAL is 7.5".
This will come with a padded zipper case as well as a Certificate of Authenticity.
