"stuntman" knives

Well...I don't own any ultra expensive knives for that reason. My Spyderco Gayle Bradley has been getting it rough though. I guess that's kinda expensive but not really. When I get my Doug Ritter M4 I'm going to use the crap out of it even though there were only 240 made and the damn thing costs $160. My name isn't HardUse for no reason. My work knives get a little beat up and I actually hold more sentimental value on the work knives because I like em lookin like that. Am I weird? LOL I fear losing my dirty beat up knives.

I'm a bit like that, too :)

I could trade off my Endura or my Blur in a heartbeat, zero attachment to them, but the one knife I'll always hang on to if I have a choice in the matter is the Cyclone that I've used and abused over and over. The blade is so scratched that it almost looks stonewashed in the right light, haha...

I think he means in checked baggage. I would hesitate to trust a Sebenza or Zero Tolerance to baggage thieves handlers myself. Maybe a SAK, for utility when I got where I was going.

Speaking of luggage, I have been wondering what the TSA would do if you cling-wrapped your suitcases like Russians sometimes do. If it was allowable it could be a decent deterrent to thieves.

Myself, I don't yet own any knives over $100. I lost a $80 Spyderco after 2 weeks of proud ownership and it really stung, so I'm reticent to invest in pricey knives. Almost bought a Gayle Bradly, almost bought a Manix 2, but pulled out at the last minute both times.

IDK what the TSA would do but the thief handler that took my bali out of my bag back in the 80s would simply whip that sucker out, cut off the wrap and commence to steal your stuff. I do not advertise valuables with elaborate security. Sorry to drift OT.

Another reason I carry my good stuff is to remind myself not to abuse my edged tools (I get cut less that way). Tools have a way of showing you what not to do LOL.

Hey Jimh,

I did not mean to belittle SOG or CS. As I said I own a SOG seal pup elite and I love the knife. Good steel and can take a beating. I was just trying to make the point that replacing a Seal pup elite would be easier on the wallet then a busse or something much higher. Thanks for the replies everyone.
