Well I was sorting out part of my knife collection by putting it in a Dell laptop bag I have.

As I had not looked at my ATS-34 BM 750 and Crawford/Kasper folders in some time I had them on the laptop bag while sitting in a chair. The laptop bag was on my lap...

Well I looked at the 750 and thought to myself, not at all bad as a folder but no benza when it slipped from my grasp and fell on the floor. No probs you may say? Only the C/K was open on the bag and fell as I jumped instinctivly. Well it hit my left leg and went right into the upper part about 1 inch deep 2 inches wide!

I sat there calmly as it fell out the wound and watched a rapidly growing dark stain growing on my tracksuit bottoms...

Can't finish tale now gota run, PART 2 in a couple of days!;) :D

BE CAREFUL WITH THOSE BLADES! THEY WILL BITE YOU IF YOU GET OVERFAMILIAR WITH THEM.:o

I know that feeling. I used to carry a CRKT K.I.S.S. on a belt by my hip.

I just put my hand my hip and when I noticed there was blood all over my hand. Yep, the knife had opened up (very easy for the K.I.S.S. to do) and lacerated my hand.

Perhaps I'm obtuse but I just discovered that it's a good idea to always have Krazy Glue on hand for first aid. It's great for sealing small cuts, and it's non-toxic. No sh*t! Someone told me that it is rumoured that it was originally invented for first aid.

Damn, and I felt bad when I took off a tiny piece of finger yesterday while using my Gatco crock stick.:(

really?... I've been carrying one for over a year now and haven't come close to that happenning...Ouch to say the least:(

I was closing my Swiss Army Knife once (without looking because I am too cool for that sort of thing...I was drunk aswell) and no matter how hard I pushed the blade would not close.

The 'wet' feeling then caused me to look at what I was doing, then I realised I was actually pushing the edge of the blade and not the back .

I didn't look too cool sucking my thumb for the next two hours...

You have to appreciate that good old stiff lip upper tradition here. The guy stabs himself and then takes the time to post an eloquent report, before noticing the growing laundry problem, and running off to the surgeon to get it treated. :)

Get well soon

If I were to add-up all the cuts I've acquired through-out my life (so far), it would look like I've been attacked by a rabid lawnmower on crack!..:D.

Man I bet that hurt alot...

Something to be said about fixed blade knives, you don't have to worry about that problem...;)

Mornin' General,

I have a Spyderco JD Long which attacks me every time I open the damned thing. Strange thing.... I just know it's going to happen, but always seem to be able to persuade myself that it won't this time!! It's really a two handed job because of the spine lock, but I always try to close it by holding the lock down, and giving it a flick. Blade always seems to contact the middle joint of the index finger, and it so bloody sharp!!!!!!!

You'd think Id have learned by now!!

Doug: Clear your fingers from the path of the blade. I think your fingers have suffered enough ;)

Hello,

The stupidest thing is that I know I should, but I always tell myself that it won't happen again. Pavlov will ultimately be proved correct, it may take some pain, a little blood, and an injection of intelligence serum.

Basically, I guess I'm just a stupid sod:confused:

You would look kind of stupid sitting indoors with gloves on and playing with knives. It would be like admitting that you were incompetent!

I just close my blades with two hands now...except when I'm being 'cool'.

what's more embarassing? gloves, or packing a digit in ice so that the hospital can reattach it? LOL

When you drop a Strider on your toe!!!! I feel your pain buddy, and mine..............Stupidity, it's painful
