Stupid (but quick) question

Do Opinels float?

I just got my first one. A little dull but sharpens up ok. It feels like it is probably denser than water overall but there is a lot of wood for a fairly thin blade. I hate to throw a new (non-stainless) knife into a sink just out of curiosity. I am sure someone here has tried this.

Dont think it will, water might just soak into the wood and sink it

Nope. in addition, the wood will swell around the blade real badly if it gets wet. I've had to oepn and close my Opinels with a Leatherman tool before, it got so tight.

If you're interested there are cures for this though.
