Stupid question about DC motors

Trick

You have a "Permanent Magnet DC motor" according to the first photo. The model number is given in the box in the upper left but I can not make it out due to the glare in the photo. It should be possible to look up the wiring diagram. If you can't find one, it is probably a safe bet that one of the wires (the white one?) is just connected to the frame of the motor, for safety ground. You can try confirming this with an ohmmeter. See if you can find labels for "A1" and "A2" (probably the two green wires?). You might have to take off some covers to see where the wires go into the round part of the motor. Those would be the wires feeding the power to the rotor of the motor. Connecting the battery charger to those wires should make it spin. As stated on the bottom right hand corner of the label, reverse the A1 and A2 connections to change the direction of the motor.

Good luck!

I'm glad to hear that it worked out for you. It sounds like it is best for anyone interested in purchasing one of these drives to call and ask for Shane Kresta. He is one of the managers in the Drives Marketing Department. The rest of the staff there are more accustomed to dealing with distributors that have accounts set up already.
