Everything wears out over time and use. I would bet that a Sebenza would last longer than many knives if subect to the same usage. I mean if you cut heavy carpet for hours a day for many years maybe you could wear out a Sebbie. But with its price I doubt that there is a very large population of people using their Sebs that way. But I think that for most people, yeah the knife should last a lifetime. But then so will a Buck 110 at a fraction of the cost.
