Stupid question yet again

I missed out on the Charlow phenomenon entirely in my time away from the forum. It's a shame -- I love barlows more than any other pattern, and I don't own a single one. Now I'm dying to know when there will be another run!

You could email Charlie (Waynorth) or send him a visitor message.

Hope is not lost!

:)

Au contraire, Grasshopper. You have not missed out, not yet! No fewer than four dealers, who are also members of this forum, still have CT Barlows (aka Charlows) in stock. The spey bladed models are becoming quite rare in the wild, but the spear points may also be on their way out.

The Time Lord (Chief Barlow Engineer C. Campagna aka Waynorth) has clearly indicated that one-armed man or razor Barlows are next, but will be followed by other patterns. Charlie likes to come up with new handle materials (like 3rd cut stag) but has suggested that he will try to offer jigged bone Charlows in various blade configurations over the next year.

If you can't locate the dealers with Charlows in stock, send me a PM or email. :)

And read the thread "What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow," from the beginning. It is a great summertime read for those of us who love Barlows.

With your inspiration, sensei, I have succeeded in locating one! Thanks

It'll be exciting to see what the future runs are like. It doesn't get any better for me than the original long-pull spearpoints in sawcut bone and ebony, but the razors sound intriguing.

And I'll start leafing through the Traditional Barlow thread just as soon as I find some spare time. (Where did it go, now? I thought I had some somewhere around here . . .) :p
