I run accross deals all the time for closeouts on discontinued knives and multi-tools. Although we can not compete with dealers here, for obvious reasons, I don't see a problem with posting closeouts for you guys to save huge on. Let me know what you think.

Mike -- as an ELU, no problemo.

I guess the folks you should be asking this question with are the dealers...

I rather like the idea

Life is like a box of knives...

Mike I also think it's a great idea. Please go with it.

This idea is preposterous! all you Fat cats may love the idea because you have plenty of money to throw away on the newest hot blades, but what about the everydat guy like me? You'll be tempting me, feeding an obsession I can't fuel. Arrrggghhhh! The torture!!!!! ;-)

Mike - I agree with Titan. You should have a thread in the dealers forum and ask the question. You should then be in a position to establish a policy. Sorry 'bout rules but it sometimes is necesary so everyone knows where they stand.

Tom

Excellent idea it's my first method for purchasing knives I don't need the newest models.

yup yup yup, uh-huh, uh-huh, I would look forward to that. I can't shop anywhere else except from my desk, so please, let us know!!!

Mike,
I agree that you may want to run the idea through the dealers forum for comments, but personally I love it!

Terrible idea. I believe you started this forum to promote knives for everyone, elu, dealer, distributor, maker. You have been wildly successful. Now, anyone can come on this site and not feel they are competing with you. Why would you want to give that up? Some of the biggest names now frequent this site (as posters, not lurkers). Even if all the profits go towards the site, if you do too many, people might become skeptical.

Keep up the good work.

Danny

I don't really see this as a problem as long as it's kept reasonable.
Not too often, not too many and not too far below their list prices.

(Damn, I can't believe I said that!)

I cut it, and I cut it, and it's STILL too short!

I have a question....Who here amongst us can honestly say that should the occasion arise to save a decent amount of money on a knife, that they would not jump on the opportunity?
Nuff said........

I think it's a great Idea. I don't see why dealers should get ticked off, they probably had the same chance at the closeouts first anyhow.

Mike,

Sounds like an excellent idea to me.

Mike from a dealer stand point I don't have a problem with your idea. Weather a person is a Dealer or not we are all consumers and like good deals on good products, and it goes to strengthen the forum that we all are glad to have, Chris. Top of Texas Knives

Absolutely a good idea, to my mind.
