stupid texas heat

im working twords an airconditiond shop, but im leaving for college next year so i dont wanna set up to much and then leave. the college im going to has a forge team so it wont be the end of my knife making.
 
Send some of that heat you have this way. Its been cool, wet and miserable so far, and we really have not had any summer weather. I used the airconditioner 3 times this year. You can have all the cool damp conditions along with all the blackflies, if there was a way to get it down there.
 
Try Phoenix:eek: Thats why I traded a knife for a swamp cooler!!!
Works untill the Dew point gets over 50 then it just blows hot humid air at you!
 
yesterday was ugly weather, it rained for a few hours and was hot at the same time. it was terrible, had to be an inside day.

I know what you mean about Texas heat. I live near Palestine over here where it is humid. I have stayed out of the shop for the past few weeks. I am going back to night shift later in the month so when I am off I will be awake all night when it is cooler. I hope to try give a friction folder a try. I am sure my neighbors will love the sound of my power tools at night though.

I am near austin, doing anything in the garage is close to impossible. I am sure there are plenty of us that know your pain.
 
I have the same problem with this heat. I am halfway between Houston and Corpus Christi close to the bay. Today the mercury was showing 101 and with this humidity that can get uncomfortable in a hurry.
 
You could have had what we enjoyed last night. The wife and I went out to a cafe West of town last night for supper. We got in the truck and took to the road the therm. read 95 degrees going out of town. Three miles West we hit a bunch of straight wind that nearly took you off the highway, had supper , and crawled back in the truck to go home 75 degrees. Ah life SOMETIMES makes up for all its ills.
