Stupid thing you did that damaged a favourite knife of yours.

Ah, and also I would practice sparring with willing friends. We practice with sheated fixed blades.
Lots of fun and bruises.

^^^^^ yes please share!
The worst I have done is right after sharpening a custom folder. I oiled the pivot and got some on the blade. Instead of wiping it off, I tried to shake it off and the oil on my hands caused me to lose my grip. So basically I threw the knife (edge down) onto a tile floor! That Rolled the entire contact area, and I got to practice my sharpening some more.

Well I was like 16 or so and thought I would try batoning a stick with my wenger SAK and started hitting it with a rock then I realized it was the edge I was hitting and not the spine:eek: did it after I watched a survivor man

wow....that hurts to read even!

Wasn't exactly my favorite knife, but I was stabbing my Spyderco Ronin into a 4x4 piece of wood and broke off the tip when I pulled it out at a slight angle. Still have the knife and although I can send it back to Spyderco to reprofile the tip, I'm just being a slacker about doing so. But I'll send it in one of these days...:o

Some years ago , as I attempted to recreate the sword fighting scene in The Princess Bride, I lost control of the toothpick from my SAK and it fell into the commode-never to be seen again.

when I was about 11 years old I bent three really nice looking no name lockback folder tips in a week trying to throw them... at the hard wood floors... in my parents home... I have only thrown throwing knives since... and I was banned from knives for quite awhile.

I was frustrated trying to sharpen my ZT 0200, got distracted and scratched up the hole blade (I was using a coarse diamond stone) so I did it on the other side two lol....but now I realize it was a good thing, now I couldn't care less about using the crap out of it.
