I don't know about the rest of you but as a knifemaker this crap burns me to no end. This is a direct qoute from a "BudK" knife catolog that arrived in the mail today.

Quote " The stiletto was originally designed in Italy as a fully automatic weapon. Today's version offers a non leathal design with the same classic features. The 5" blade is 420 stainless steel and razor sharp. The brass bolsters are just one more added feature. Thanks to Bud K you do not have to break the bank for this one."

A knife being an auto has nothing to do with it's ability to inflict lethal harm on someone.

This is just another feeble attempt to cater to the politically correct world that the sheeple find so appealing.

Sounds like one of those "semi-automatic revolvers" that more than one anti-gun newspaper journalist has written about.

I hear you, Beowulf! But, I do have to tell you that if I should ever be attacked by a 5"-bladed stiletto-wielding psycho,I sure hope he has one of those with a non-lethal design. For sure you betcha!

Actually, there may be some historical accuracy to his spiel. I tend to think that over time at least a few people have lost bowel control when someone snapped open an auto in their face, then died of embarrassment.

(I'm sorry, don't know what makes me do these things. My shrink changed my meds today -- well my bedtime dose -- so maybe will go away.

I really do agree with you, but have to say that maybe this source should be considered. I found several items to be hilarious. One rectangular piece of steel with a cordwrapped section near one end was billed as a "full tang machete." DUH!! If one of the edges is sharp it really fits the description of a sharp prybar, from it's appearance.

My favorite line was: "ergonomically designed serrations." I guess the serrations feel better when you grip them when doing close-up work.

Was a little disturbed that their listing of the CS sjambok clearly implied it is made from hippo skin. No mention whatsoever that it is plastic/glass.

BudK strikes me as a snake-oil salesman, pure and simple. Doubt many pay any attention to muchof his BS, including his PC crap.

I did bookmark the site, in my humor folder. Thanks for pointing out the company.

5" razor sharp blade that is non-lethal? Huh?

By "fully automatic", I guess they mean it popped out of your pocket, opened, and did the deed without human intervention.

Nope, a fully automatic knife is a pure stabbing tool. You hit the button and the blade starts popping in and out of the handle, repeatedly on its own.

Stiletto's have been around a tad bit longer then what BudK (K as in Kruddy,Krappy Knives) says. The original incarnation was a fixed blade. A long thin blade to be exact. Sounds like ole Bud is playing to the adolescent wanna be's out there.

You got it!!! I'd wiz my pants laughing if anybody ever came at me with one of these.

Text on Fully Automatic Knife packaging - "AAA batteries not included."

Me and BudK had a go around a while back. I threw away the recent catalog but I remember a liner lock knock off that pissed me off. It shows a knife that is halfway open and has a finger pushing on the button on the handle(looks like M14 sniper) The caption says something like access at the touch of a button. When we say fast opening we mean fast. A little note at the bottom says adding a spring may make it illegal. The way they have it set up they obviously are trying to make people think they are buying an auto. Maybe you should drop them an email and tell them how you feel...

The first knife was probably used to cut stuff.

Fully Automatic eh? Like a ballistic knife, but the blades just keep-a-comin'...

Bwahahahahah

If there's someone out there you don't like, stab 'em with this non-lethal knife. Then, explain to the jury that you certainly didn't mean to kill this person. If fact, you made a specific point of using a non-lethal knife. This is obviously not a case of murder but of false advertising.

Then, sue BudK for all of the pain and suffering that going through this whole experience caused you.

Art I'm shocked! You were reading a bud k catalog. Talk about junk mail. Doesn't your mailman bring Victorias secret?

A full auto knife would be fine!

But YOU - there in the US,

would you be restricted to a 10-blade-magazine?

For export and LE, will there be a 30-rounder please?

hmmmmm :?

Recently i saw an advertisment here, for "A stunning new era in kitchen cutlery, with innovative designs and the best materials available". Fair enough, i thought, until i looked at the picture, and read the small print...

It was a basic kitchen knife, no different from thousands of others. It's made from "High tech injections molded plastic" and "High qualitty 420J22 stainless steel"

Mistakes are from the Advert, not from me....

Who are they kidding?

But the best part? It sets you back, "Only" $399, which can be made in 8 easy payments of, you get the idea.....
