52100 high carbon steel
Heat treated to Rc 58-60 with attention to a fine grain structure throughout the blade
Flat grind with a cork belt finish
Distal tapered full tang with a lanyard to help get it out of this deep scabbard
Stabilized curly maple scales. My latest batch of wood came out very dark in the stabilizing process because I used a treatment that is common for black powder rifle stocks. I really like it but it photographs terribly. You can tell that I really cut the exposure back on these pictures trying to bring out the curl; it looks much better in person.
Overall length: 9 inches
Blade: 4 3/4 inches
Deep leather scabbard with a belt loop for a right hand carry
