Stylish can openers.

I normally just use the P 38 that is on my keys.
I used mine the other day!

Although I don't recall mine having a magnet??
I used to swear by electric can openers in kitchen but these days with ring pulls I don't need them all that often. When I do it's usually big or oversized cans and those are a real pain with something like a multitool or field can opener.

A coworker wanted to borrow my Buck knife to open a can. When I declined, he told me how he used to open cans in the army with a bayonet. "Then you should have packed a bayonet with your lunch", I told him. Use the correct tool for the job and don't ask to borrow my knife.

Really? I don’t hesitate to use a P 38 on a #10 can.

I also use a knife to lift the ring on pull top cans.

To each their own. Whatever people want to do with their knives, I say more power to them. And I feel a certain vicarious admiration for people who use their knives with disregard for their well being.

And of course I know that some threads here at Bladeforums are created just for the fun of it and shouldn't be taken too seriously ;).

That being said, I don't mind having to sharpen a knife as a result of "normal" use, but I generally try to avoid performing unnecessary tasks with a knife that are sure to dull/ruin the edge, or possibly cause real damage to the edge (or tip). Any damage I cause is damage I have to fix. I've done a lot with knives, but I don't believe I've ever chosen one to cut through metal.

On more than a few occasions I've thinned out the thick factory edge of a blade by hand to get the edge I wanted. With the amount of time and effort invested in such a chore, I'm reluctant to ruin the edge I worked so hard to produce, especially if there's a better tool readily available for the task.

Must be a collusion

Back when I was young and stupid I tried to open some C rations with a cheapo SAK I got from the back of the comics.
Knife closed on my hand.
I'm no longer young.

I stayed at a Holiday Inn and got this:
