Looking for a small sub 3" blade assisted folder with a handle under 4" that is not made in China. The only 2 I've found are the Kersaw Leek and Chive but not a big fan of these. I really like the Kershaw Cryo but cannot make myself buy made in China. Other ones I've seen which would fit the bill are the SOG Flash, SOG Twitch, and Gerber Mini Fast Draw, but again all are made in China.

I've looked at the brands I know of and but can't find anything, am I asking the unpossible or is my Google-fu just weak?

If anyone can think of anything it would be much appreciated thanks!

How much are you willing to spend. You could get something like a Benchmade mini Barrage if you're willing to spend a bit, though there's no flipper which is kind of a bummer to me for an assisted knife.

I already own a Blur, also the blade is over 3" and the handle is also over 4".

Hey, it just hit me. What about the Zing! Kershawguy has a limited edition Zing on his site right now. It's made here, and is a very quality little piece. It's an assisted open little knife, and has a tanto blade which may or may not be for you. I believe it should fit your specs.

Price not really a big issue as long as its under $200. I already own several Benchmades, my EDC is a 525 which is similar in size to the mini Barrage. I'm looking to pick up a 586 Barrage when I can find one locally. I also own a 556 and 707 which fit the sub 3" blade and sub 4" handle, just not assisted...

I just want a really small good quality assisted knife.

Not huge on the Tanto but that's the closest I've seen to what I'm looking for!

Benchmade 585 mini barrage or if you want something better, the 586 mini barrage. Aluminum and g10, with m390. Axis assist. Awesome knife

Yes the Barrage is very nice and it's assisted, I've been looking to pick up the 586 with the M390. I was just looking for something under 4" handle and also slightly slimmer. This is actually for my GF, she like the Cryo but not that it's made in China thinks its cheap (Probably because I always rag on China made things lol). She has been using my 556 but has trouble getting the blade to flick out consistently and likes my assisted knives just not the size.

I completely overlooked the 470-1 gunskinves99 mentioned this may fit the bill if no better options surface!

Another small BM option is the 707. Manual but so smooth that if she has a problem opening, I will be totally shocked. Way easier that the 556 (I own both) . You just have to lightly touch the thumb stud and it flies out. Plus it's slim and about as compact as you can get. Oh and you won't have to fight and assist mechanism when putting it away. Gravity drops the blade into the handle when you disengage the axis. It's my all time favorite knife:thumbup:

Yeah I own a 707 it is very smooth. She doesn't like to flick with the studs but can open using the axis lock just doesn't get it every time, it bounces back on her lol. I don't know what to say guess she's too much of a girly girl I try not to get frustrated even though it seems so simple to me. She has no problem with assisted knives maybe she just needs to practice more with the 556 I'm letting her borrow. I may let her try the 707 see if it makes a difference, I told her she can keep which ever one she likes since she has been asking for a knife for a while.

I don't think the Kershaw Guy Zings are assisted. I know for sure mine isn't. That said, it's a great little flipper and definitely doesn't need a spring.

If its mostly a quality thing then I say go ahead and get a Cryo for her since you know its good enough. Yes, its made in china but I would bet so is most of the shit she owns anyway.
