sub 3" edc suggestions?

Dude, man, if you arent' like a totally "I hate SOG now" dude, you could, like, totally get a Flash 1, dude. AO is, like, totally righteous, and it's got, like, a full flat-cha-ma-callit grind.

Most SOG designs don't appeal to me... they're either too 'tacticool' or the huge "SOG" that is often molded onto the handle turns me off.

With that being said, I just ordered a Flash 1. Too many people have good things to say about that knife for me to ignore it and judge it based on the rest of the SOG line. The clip design look fantastic and it's also made in the USA which is what finally pushed me over the edge to buy it.

I don't want to start singing its praises yet (as I haven't received the knife) but at the ~$33 shipped I found it for, I don't really think you can go wrong. At the very least you'll know what the hype is about.

Just thought I'd also chime in that I have a Spyderco Dragonfly (which is fantastic) but the molded plastic clip is a little funky. The knife fits perfectly in the small pocket on a pair of jeans, however. I really want the G10 handled Dragonfly but it costs significantly more than the Flash I.

The Mini Griptilian is also on my radar and I'm planning on buying one of those in the future, but again, it costs over twice as much as a SOG Flash I.

I think if you're willing to spend $70+ then the Dragonfly of Mini Griptilian could be the superior choice but the Flash I seems like a great small EDC at its price point.

A smallish - edc - I'll vote for the Spydie Dragonfly too - but IF you look around you might luck out and find an old Spydie "Co-Pilot" - they've been off the production line for quite a while - but I loved mine untill my son saw it! - IF you are really being "cheap" and not a steel nut consider a small version of the Gerber "Paraframe" - they can be had for under 10 bucks - at a couple places I know - Sure I know it's "mystery metal" but they seem to hold up pretty well and if lost - you didn't loose a lot of money - a smaller SAK - like the Vic "Cadet" also is a great edc. and adds some light duty tools! just my thoughts!

you need the ss dragonfly. i have both the ss and g10. the ss is the best.

I would spend a little more and get one of the staple EDC blades like Delica, Mini Griptilian etc.

I've got a Victorinox Bantam Alox on order so can't recommend it whole heartedly yet. But it seems to be a perfect all-purpose small blade and I like that it includes a screw-driver/can opener to pry with and prevent damage to the knife blade, should you be prone to using your pocket knife for things other than slicing.

You should check out the Boker Subcom. I keep one clipped IWB no matter what I am wearing, its like my last ditch back up. I also makes a great money clip.

skyline's a winner... i picked up a benchmade mini-grip and like it a lot. little thing took a bite out of my palm the other night :) it's a little shorter gripwise than the skyline but the blade's just as thin and sharp.
