One SubClaw in pieces ;)

I bought a SubClaw a couple of weeks ago and for some reason it just didn't click for me right away. I thought it was too heavy for the size and it was very hard to open and close. I decided to carry it exclusively over the weekend to give it one last chance before a trip to the "for trade" list. I oiled the pin which fixed the stickiness and stuck it in my pocket. Pretty soon the weight became a non-issue and I really liked how the width of the knife kept it from torquing around in my pocket like most clipped small folders.

Yard work was the order of the day so the SubClaw went to work on numerous bags of mulch, did its fair share of pruning, and was seriously abused opening some root balls. It performed great, fit well in gloved hands, and cleaned up easily. It has fully redeemed itself and is still in my pocket today awaiting more abuse. This is one of those knives that's meant to be used and I'm glad I decided to let it prove itself.

Aloha mugwump867,

Mahalo for giving the SubClaw a chance to prove itself...It handles yardwork (Ugh!) very well, as you have found out, and will handle more "urban type" chores surprisingly well also.

One thing is certain...had you placed it up for trade, you'd have no probz getting rid of it! (hmmmmmm...I cannot get the smilies to work?)

Thanks again, and enjoy! Keep us posted!
God bless!

At last my first Boker and CLB design :)

What a sweet little knife, fits perfect in my hand.

Thank's Daywalker for such a cool design!

Aloha Sharpy_swe,

Mahalo much, and a great Boker Plus/CLB knife to start out with! It is one of the SFV's I tend to carry the most often. The hawkbill blade is so relaxed, that it really can handle a multitude of EDC tasks...and it just looks plain wicked!!! LOL!!!

God bless and do keep us posted!

Cool pics man.., very Andy Warhol IMO!

I got my SubClaw(and a Subcom) on a whim when I saw they were for sale here on BF. I thought they'd be nice little blades and for the price I couldn't pass them up. I wasn't expecting much though due to their size and price.., boy was I dead wrong. These things are really awesome. I can't get over how well they fit in my pocket AND in my hand! I was a little worried about the grip since they're so small but you can actually get a pretty nice grip on these!! Now I've gotta get a Trance and Hyper to go with these two and my M-type!

Good job CLB!! Keep up the great work!!

Mahalo fatheadhill,

Thanks for echoing the great price point on these SFV's, and what great knives they are for the money! In this day and age, I believe that these are a God send! One of these knives actually costs a few gallons of gas!!! Cripes!!!

Enjoy your knives, and do keep us posted...

God bless, and thanks again!

I picked up a Subcom from the same sale. :D I also wasn't expecting too much but this little knife is growing on me. It fits in the hand nicely and is SHARP.

Aloha Ah Pook,

Where the heck was this sale? :-)

Anyway, glad the 'Claw is growing on ya! Have fun with it and as I always ask folks who just get one of these...

Please keep us posted and do watch that tip!!!
God bless!!!

Agreed in every way, shape and form  .

Coat a partially serrrated 440C, or 154 CM blade, stick true to the orginal plans for G-10 and then PM me for first dibs when when it becomes available :) .

Aloha adamlau,

Yeah, will do should G10 every be used on the SubCom's. I believe it has "earned the right" to wear G10, and it should not affect the price point too much. If it does, may as well go with a "higher grade steel" for those who have been asking for a "High End SF".

Mahalo much, and I owe you an email! Sorry, been really, really busy!
God bless!

I need a Claw!!! Guess I'll have to wait 'till my next batch from Fred or across the Atlantic. Planning to suprise my girl friend with a pink one - will the zytel hold aerosol/graffiti paint?

Aloha MOI,

Aiyaaahhhhhh...YES!!! YOU of all people need one of the 'Claws!!! As for the scale holding paint...

The trainers I have built wear a "Safety Blue", and it has held up nicely. Main places where the paint does come off are along the edges of the scale...so I hope your Gfriend likes a "battle worn look".

Again, keep us posted MOI, and God bless!
