Aloha ALL and TJT,

Terry, I got it from a most reliable source that only several runs of the initial SF's released were made of 2420J2, if not just the pre-pro models.

Some great fellows I "know" from Germany have both said that the current steel is AUS8?:eek: :confused:

I was gonna ask DW about it, but he's really busy right now, and I dunno if CH would know.

What say you KnifeBrother?

I have heard, but not verified that only a limited number,
maybe only the first to poduction runs are in the 420.
I know for a fact that the factory has been told to make the switch to
the 8.
I'll post more when I know for sure.

Guys, I am confused, so what do I got ? The 420J2 or AUS8? Due to performance I would say its 420J2, but what the heck, I love it!;)

This is getting interesting. I too would like to know more about this. Are there ways to distinguish between which ones have 420j2, and the ones that have AUS-8? Also, is the change in steel going to affect the price?

Something to ask when you speak with him.
 
I need to pick up another few anyway, since I've got people who keep wanting mine, any word on the next run?

I'm with ghostrider, is there any way to tell the two steels apart?

Okay, the first run was in fact 420J2...I just do not know how many is in a first run. We gotta wait on Terry for that top secret info!:D

I do know that some guys in Germany said that the SF is back ordered until Feburary!:eek: YEAH!!! This being said, I am assuming there will be a start of another run...the AUS8 run, right?:)

Scott, I think the only way is to have thombrogan look at the two in his super powerful camera microscope thingy!:D

Well than I better start looking for pre-orders now, because I've got half a dozen people who want them, and I need another for me, and another for...oh you get the point.;)
