1095 steel with guards and bolsters welded in place. Quilted Maple scales
and a fitted sheath ( no play. I hate a sloppy fit ).
Thanks for looking

Hopefully you will take this in the spirit it is intended. I certainly don't mean this as an insult, but I feel that you should really look to refine your guards. They tend to look clunky. Maybe that's the look you are after, but I think the appearance of your knives could really be improved in that area.

i like the oversized front guard, i think on a hardcore fighting blade it would be really handy in terms of protecting the hand and parrying.

your blade looks very modern and end-of-the-world type of style, i like it alot.

i would say the sub-hilt looks a tad chunky, but without holding it in hand i can't really say if it would interfere with how it feels.

how thick is the blade?

Thanks for the input. The O.A. length is 17.5 if I remember right ( it's moved on ). The blade was 12" x 2 x 1/4" thick.
My thought behind the heavy guard is strength. You would have to really work at bending it. The guard is 1/4" hardened keyway stock. I know it looks a little "heavy" but it was purpose built.
The subhilt is comfortable with it's thickness and the handle shape.
If the handle didn't widen after the subhilt it wouldn't have worked.

Is this what you mean by more refined ? Or do you think I should "thin" it from front to back ?

Thanks again,
Mike

What I meant by more refined is less mass, some curve, and better finish. Your current guards tend to look blocky and massive. This may well be your intent, and that's okay. I'm just letting you know what would make them look better to me. Others may well have a completely different opinion.
