Subtleties that comprise CRK love...

The cool thing is, Chris Reeve is probably the biggest knife nerd of all of us (no offense, Sir, quite the contrary intended in fact!).

To take one's passion and obession, and then to share it with the world, that's artistry. Much like musicianship, it's exposing a bit about one's internal being for all to see (hear).

I might have been content with perfecting a pocketknife for my own personal uses, but his intent was different. And I'm glad about that.

Is that quintessential fanboyism or what? :)

My wife recently said, "Ya, I'm not listening. But you know there is a 3 year old in his room right now that would love to listen to you talk about knives." I later asked my son if I should get a pro-tech Sprint in addition to a damascus sebenza, with the intention of using him against my wife's fiscal responsibility, and he said "No." I asked if I should get the damascus seb and he said "no." I told him the way it works, just like between me and Grampa Dude, is that we encourage each other to buy cool stuff and support those efforts in front of mom. Then I asked him who he thought was going to buy him a Yamaha PW50 dirt bike? I suggested that he think about that as well as my small sebenza 21 with ebony and damascus. After all we wouldn't want me to be too sad to buy dirt bikes, right?

He didn't get it. Maybe next year.

Yeah, don't give up. When my kids were young, I found them to be much more reliable and interesting than consulting my Magic 8Ball for CRK purchases.

Good to see you're looking at dirt bikes for your Son. Both my kids were riding ATV's at very young ages. I firmly believe they will both be far better/safer drivers of automobiles than their peers as a result.
