Suggest a knife for son <2.5" lockback

What about a Victorninox Climber in Stay-Glow scales (bright yellow with some glow-in-the dark capability)?

Tell you what, I will give you a Kershaw DWO to give to your son.
PM your addy and I'll send one out.
Black, Blue or Red. 2-3/8" blade, 3-1/4" closed

Btw, the red is actually a darker red than this, but bright

Well done, Mike! Another excellent display of the special character of this forum. (In my not so unprejudiced opinion. ;))

That's stepping up to the plate, right there. Good on ya!

Mike- Well, it wasn't my intention, but I'll take you up on it. PM sent.

I had almost narrowed it down to a locking double bladed Rough Rider in green bone. I might still get it for him. You can never be too young to learn that "you can't have enough knives." Thanks again!

 Very Cool Mike
That will make a great knife for the boy.... Nothing better than seein a young boys face light up when they get a new knife

I'd also suggest a CASE Mini-Copperlock,nice slim knife and strong too,not that cheap to buy though.

You could try a Chinese made Schrade 3 OT lockback, about 3" closed but not that good a finish, cheap though and if lost,no big tragedy.

A yellow handled CASE knife such as medium stockman or mini trapper could give your son a good intro to multi blade pocket knives.give him a choice of blades to fiddle with, not locking though, but can't lose that yellow handle on the ground. Opt for stainless, at first.

I second the mini copperlock. I'm not sure but I think you can get it in blaze orange

Mike- The brighter the better. No preference other than that. I can't tell you how many times his sister (yeah, right!) took his black Case only to have it turn up in his possession. He's just an absent-minded kid who leaves things in odd places.

Thanks again

The people here make this such a damm special place!!!!

Hey, Mike-

Well, you surprised him and made him one happy kid! (Dad's happy, too!)

I got home today and he had already done this of his own accord:

That's great!
Glad I could help him out.

If he/you decide(s) to buy another orange traditional folder for a bit of an upgrade in quality (well, I'm assuming it'll be an upgrade_ a Case Russlock with orange G10 would work nicely.

I received Alex's letter yesterday. Really made me feel good.
You've got a great son.
