Suggest a spyderco for me...

I'll recommend The Techno . In my opinion spyderco best built knife . And is way different that what most people are recommending.

I'm looking to expand my horizons and try something new. My favorite and most carried spydie is my pm2. I recently bought and tried carrying a mantra 1 but it just didn't do it for me for some reason. Nothing at all wrong with it but it wasn't enough to bump my pm2. I've tried a pm3 and same feeling, not bad but just not great. I've tried a delica and a native 5 and both were good but I just don't like back locks. So I'm wondering what else I should try, what is at least the equal to the pm2 and isn't a back lock? Suggestions welcome....
Did you choose one yet? There's been a lot of great choices already posted. It's hard to go wrong with any of them.

You could always go on the Spyderco site and check out their entire line too.

My suggestions would be :
- Yojimbo2
- Military (especially the KW S90V/CF/Ti)
- Manix2
- Vallotton Sub-Hilt (the polished G10 is stunning)

Post your decision when you decide. Good luck.

I think I'm looking at a manix 2, I have a few knives currently for sale so I'm going to see if anybody has one to trade before buying. There's so many versions of the manix, what are people's favorite steels? From what I've read the bd1 isn't that great?

BD1 is a little soft but easy to sharpen. At least that's what I've found. There are better steels available on the Manix.

If the Maniz2 is on your radar then I'd agree with the other members who recommend a Manix with G10 handle and S30V blade.

So far my favorite is the S110V version with violet G10. Holds an edge forever but sharpening it takes some know how. CF Manix2's always appeal to me too.

I tried to replicate that buzz, that the PM2 did for my head, but buying other Spdyerco's hasn't done much, for me.

However, the GB 1 did get the juices flowing, albeit, not quite to the degree that the PM2 did. The GB 1's truly a magnificent knife, IMO. It's like opening a bank vault, that makes this beautiful sound, when it locks up.

The Manix 2, while a nice knife, falls way short of the PM2, in my mind. It carries wide, for the lack of a better word, and I like the compression lock, on the PM2, far better.

You know, you could collect PM2's. Trust me, there are a lot of PM2 collectors - or there surely does seem to be. :D

If you're going to have a disease, such as an addiction to Spyderco knives, I can think of far worse afflictions, to have, as Spyderco's sell wonderfully, on the secondary market. In other words, you buy it right, take good care of it, some chump (and I say that affectionately :p) will buy it from you - and likely, pay you well, for it. Of course, some models do far better, than other models.

Now, what in the hell was I talking about, and did I have a point? Be right back, I'm going to look for a point!

Get another Para2 with 'better' steel and put custom scales on it. Worked for me.

Manix 2 is the obvious and oft cited recommendation. Manix XL, big and wide to some, is definitely my favorite Manix by far.

Military. Has a cult like following for very good reason.

Im not a big backlock fan myself. I wont stop me from buying a knife, but prefer a few other locks out there a little more. Besides the pm2, i would say my favorite Spydies are the Dragonfly 2(backlock) and Military(linerlock).

If you like Orange the Cutlery shopee Orange light weight with a S90v blade is a good deal. If you go with G-10 handles I would look for a sprint run version with milled liners. The standard one with S30v blade has solid liners so it’s a little on the heavy side.

Spydiechef all the way.....you will not be disappointed....I've had a lot of Spyderco's come and go but this is the only one i will not get rid of.
