Suggest me a small < 3 inch traditional, or an easy way to carry something larger

Since you said you want a sub 3" knife, I believe any sub 3" double blade knife would work fine in the watch pocket and in my opinion, you can't go wrong with a Case Peanut. GEC also makes the Pemberton and the 22 Magnum at a higher price point. I favor the Pemberton because of it's coke bottle pattern.
I EDC a 3.5" Queen 06L single blade lockback and carry it in my watch pocket. I wear Wrangler jeans and their watch pockets are fairly large. A single blade knife of that size works but a double blade jack pattern would be a problem. It makes it tough to get your hand in the main pocket because of the thickness of the jack. I also EDC a Queen canoe and although it has 2 blades, it's thin enough because of the opposing blades.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. Here is what I have so far. Loving all of these suggestions as I really don't know the model names for most traditional folders.

I really like this little case, but it is beat to hell and missing the scale on.the back. Not sure the model (lighter for scale)

A couple sod busters and a remington that I like. I carry these alone occasionally. They annoy me falling over in my pocket, but some good suggestions here to remedy that.

Few prettier, more traditional style knives I like. Top is a small puma medici. Next is a bertram cutlery(hen and rooster?) canoe. Both of those are stag and are probably good second knives I guess. Below are a case trapperlock and a moore maker trapper.

Finally, a few other random inherited knives I don't know much about. Imperial, Ka-bar, and no clue on the bottom one. I like the patterns, but not particularly any of the knives.

Thanks again for all the help

I don't really have a suggestion for a sub 3" knife. If you're talking handle length, I steer clear of those. If you're talking blade length, you have a vast array of choices. I personally prefer GEC above all others. If you go to their website, you can find their dealers list and then scour their sites for the knife you want.

As for the knife falling sideways in your pocket...... Years ago I decided I hated pocket clips and took them off all my modern knives. To avoid the knife falling sideways, I just sew a stitch in my right front pocket. You could use your left instead if you want. The knife in this picture is a Grandad Barlow and is just shy of 5" closed. With the pants on, it's a little over an inch lower than the top of the pocket. It takes all of 5 minutes to sew with a machine.... maybe 30 minutes by hand, but it reduces bulk and the knife is as if it's clipped, not to mention it's safe from keys, change, etc. Added bonus is that you can safely reach into your pocket and pull your hand out without accidentally unclipping the knife. Probably wouldn't work so well with slacks because the pockets on those are usually side slash, but I typically only wear jeans or Carharrts. One of my favorite things about traditional knives is no pocket clips!

I usually carry a Leatherman juice in the watch pocket.... lots of good tools and a nice beater knife if someone needs to borrow one.

Hope you find something good!

That is a beautiful knife and an even more awesome idea. My wife sews a lot. This will be happening soon.I'm open to any brands worth looking at. GEC seems to be at the top of the list. That idea literally opens up a whole new range of carry options for me. I love that big Remington in my pics and I could easily carry it like that.

I forgot to add.... use straight pins to adjust the height and width before it's sewn. Just use caution trying the pants on like that!

Go to a gun or knife show look, touch, and feel. If you like a Great Eastern, Case, Queen or Schatt & N Morgan you will have a nice knife. Check out prices before you go as there are many available. Even an older USA made Buck cadet might fill the bill. There are just so many nice knives available .

Anyone know what the pattern is on the little case I posted in the picture a couple post ago?

I'm a little biased because I like my Case peanut so well, but I think the 'nut is definitely one to think about. When you get it, you'll think it's too small to handle much of anything. You'll be wrong. ;)

It's hard not to recommend/like a Case Peanut. I generally prefer my GECs but I do have a small collection of Peanuts too :) Another GEC not mentioned yet is the #09 Esquire. Its 2 7/8" closed but thin because its a pen knife.
