Suggest to me a fixed blade knife with good sheath for EDC

The Dozier Personal is and was my choice. Mine has a modified Wharncliffe blade, but they make another model with a clip point. The horizontal sheath is kydex and great. The Canoe is another reasonable choice for a small knife.

Sheaths always seem to be the problem for me. I think the Kabar Becker BK-14/BK-24 would make an excellent EDC, but you will probably need a better sheath.

Do you need a full-tang knife, or would something like this work?

If the sheath is your primary shopping factor, these are hard to beat as far as knife retention and safety.

The Izula is great for both pocket and neck carry. No scales, just paracord wrap. A little bigger than that is the HEST, also a very nice knife.

The Esee 3 gets pretty high praise.

I'll let you know how the Street Beat is if the damn thing ever ships. :grumpy:

Check out the fixed blade section of the knifemaker's market here.

Tons of high quality EDC fixed blades at VERY attractive prices.

Aside from custom knives (see link to JK Knives in my sig below) my favorite fixed blade is my ZT 0121. Great size, heft, and grip. Love it (pic below). And you can't go wrong with Becker. I have a BK2 (actually the BK22 which is the same knife, but better sheath), BK7, and the Ritter Becker MK2 Perseverance. All of these are nice, functional, well-built and comfortable.

My JK Knives "The Tool". Hands down my favorite fixed blade and not as expensive as one would think considering that it is custom:

My Ritter (this knife has removable balance in the handle so that you can adjust the balance to suit you as an individual - pic borrowed from Knifeworks the only place you can buy this knife):

Since you're looking at a smaller fixed blade I'd recommend a swamprat rodent solution those are great knives you can do anything with! Then you can have any of the sheath makers on the forum make you a sheath with your own specifications.

The Izula is great for both pocket and neck carry. No scales, just paracord wrap. A little bigger than that is the HEST, also a very nice knife.

The Hest is very thick though, great as a last ditch survival knife, but a bit much for EDC IMHO. The ESEE 3 is better for that and about the same OAL.

Esse Candiru with Godspeed sheath. I've had one for a good while now and it's great.
