How about a subforum dedicated to shop safety...as it applies to knifemaking..?

Like hazerdous fumes/dusts...or buffing sharp things....

Such topice come uo regularly, and it might save repetitive questions

if the threads were together...

I'd like to see that idea. I like how some shop Forums have heat treat, forging, tools, and other similar subforums.

Safety in this hobby should be stressed as high as possible. So much of what we learn doing this is working alone in our shops. Not always help if we need it.
We also do so much learning on our own that all the knowledge that we "learn the hard way" so the next guy doesn't find out all we did the hard way.

The sticky helps but a sub forum would likely get more traffic.

I suggested adding more info to the safety thread and Stacy said that if I posted it, he would move it to the safety sticky thread.

I still haven't written it yet.

I wanted to mention be careful on dividing the forums up into lots of little bits.
Instead of more traffic you end up with less.

Any good safety info gets linked to the safety sticky. All someone needs to do is send me a PM or email with the link to the thread they think is a good candidate for the stickies.

I actually like the fact that these things roll up regularly in Shop Talk, because it refreshes everyone's mind on how easily we can get lax.

I checked for a stickey, but somehow overlooked it.....
my goof...
