Suggestion for a good corded drill for a light DIYer.

If that's the sort of light DIY tasks you needed a drill for, the one you bought should last for many years.

I appreciate your good advice. Mom's house is fairly old and well built. I had to go through about an inch of board and could not have been more pleased with how the drill preformed.

Congrats on the new drill. Those "little" Dewalt's are nice aren't they? I got the DWD112 almost two years ago and have used it a ton. Mainly screwing together work benches, a fence, a wood shed and so on. Enjoy!

Honestly, I think the Dewalt will do fine. I am going to stop by a store and look. I can't tell a difference between the two Dewalts though. Unfortunately, I do not have a helpful hardware near me.
I recently got a cordless Dewalt to replace my much heavier Hitachi. The older Hitachi still runs great but for extended overhead work just to heavy.

I just got a DeWalt 20v Max at Home Depot, the one they were running at 99.00. Love it! Did have to order a couple bit holders to screw on the side but well worth it.

Alright, you got me laughing with that one, Popeye.

On topic: I have nothing new to report about the drill. Did get some end mills in though. Gonna use the Dremel to drill a few detents.
