Suggestion for sub 6" Hiking knife

I'm just not a fan of the BK2. I've looked at it a couple of times, debated it, but it's just not there for me. Last time, instead of the BK, I bought a Kabar FINS drop point fixed blade that's not bad at all. It was a rezor out of the box, but with that slight hollow grind edge. First I thinned the edge and it shaved fuzz sticks much better, then I convexed it a little with my belt sander and now it slices even better. My wife startled me while I was doing it and I lost the sharp point ( boy I was pissed) so I'll have to work on it to get it back.

For a $75 dollar limit, I'd watch the classifieds and try to pick up a used Rat Cutlery (ESEE) RC-4. I've seen used ones go for that sometime.

Checkout the Condor Rodan. The blade measures under six inches (5.25") but it has shown to be a cheaper competitor to the BK2.

The Buck 119 is a good option, but if that one is a bit too flashy for you then you might want to consider the 650 Buck Nighthawk.
The blade is 6.5" however....
