Suggestions? Bark River/Ranger/Ontario?

One note about BRKT knives--every wood and handle combo has a different price, so when you compare prices from dealer to dealer, you have to compare apples to apples. MANY of BRKT knives are one or two of a kind.

They are awesome knives. As said above, just be sure you are buying from a stocking dealer (which both DLT and knivesshipfree are)

I can't speak for KnivesShipFree because, though I've heard nothing but good about them, I have yet to order from them.

On DLT's site, when you order a knife from them, you are ordering the one in the picture. THAT IS the one for sale. In other words, if you save a copy of the picture, then order the knife, when it arrives you can compare it....it'll be the same one. It's tough to tell on anything but a wood-handled model. I suppose if they had, say, five black ash burl Highland's, then of course that would be an exception. But usually when you order, they instantly remove from the photo lineup the knife you ordered.

I don't think that's actually true. I've ordered a number of knives from them, and they frequently have several fo the same model/handle material. They use the photos Mike Stewart takes, and there may be any number of the same model/handle material. When the knives arrived, they were not the identical knife as in the photo (which was still up - cuz they had more of them!).

Sometimes, if Mike made only one, and DLT has that one, the photo will be of the exact knife. But I wouldn't count on it.

Since Derrick at KnivesShipFree take his own photos of his knives, you're more likely to see the exact knife at that site.

Well Grampa, you may be right and I may have spoke too soon. I bought a mini-Skinner in Oregon Myrtle Burl but before I did I saved the photo (in a wish-list type folder). WHen it arrived, it was the same knife. Same thing happened with a Bravo-1 in green burl. HOWEVER, now that I think about it, it may be true that DLT keeps the same photo if they get another mini-Skinner in some nice wood. Just that my experience has been when you order a knife they have only one of (number in stock is in the right-hand column), that photo at least gets pulled from their site....permanent or temporary is in question I suppose.
