Looking for a cheap knife with a convex edge. Lately, I've gotten a few knives with convex edges. But I'd like something cheap to practice on. Thanks.

I don't know your definition of "cheap", but Bark River is known for their convex edge blades. It's easy to find closeout models for under $100. You might save even more $$ by looking for a used Bark River on eBay or in the "For Sale" forum section.

Opinels all come with convex primary grinds, and a very small v-ground edge bevel.

Super easy to make it full convex. Just sharpen it once that way instead of on your sharpmaker/lansky/etc :D

Thanks for the suggestions. I was thinking of the bark rivers, but they're a little too pricy for a "practice" knife. I'll give the opinel a try.

I tried to give my Ka-Bar a convex bevel. Came out pretty good, although I think I may have made it a little too obtuse. Still is scary sharp, though not quite razor sharp. Interested to see how it does in the field though.

You can put a convex edge on any knife you own. I've been converting several of my knives to a convex edge as they need sharpening.

So, buy the knife you want then if you want a convex edge, just convert it. That will give you many more choices.

Regards

It's not that I want convex edges on my knives. Some knives I bought recently have convex edges and I want to practice on a cheaper knife. My spyderco native ($40) was a knife I bought to practice sharpening. But I like it the way it is, so I wouldn't want to reprofile the edge.
