Suggestions for a new EDC Knife

I have a soft spot for Kershaw Blurs. The one in S30v is under 100, and the 14c28n versions are even less with different color configurations.

Slim pocket profile and aluminum scales with rubber inserts are pretty neat and secure in hand. The cutting edge is close to the handle which makes it a little easier for controlled whittling cuts. Flow through design for ease of cleaning. No flipper tab and hollow ground.

The factory pocket clip is not great, but when swapped with deep carry aftermarket clip it really comes alive as an EDC. If I grab a Blur as a main EDC paired with a SAK of some type and I feel well equipped.

Good luck in your search!

Isn't the Blur over 3 inches?

You want three inch or under . . . though you might consider this . . . it's the big little knife.
(a bit over three). VG-10 steel and a nice heat treat.
Sorry . . . I love these things. Maybe you will too.
In the right situation you get a little light show.

Here it is with a Buck 110 for size comparison (keep in mind this titanium handled knife is light enough to carry in a shirt pocket like a ball point pen).

Here it is with a Spyderco Ladybug. A good combination.

Mini Griptilians are one of the better choices out there. One of my favorite platforms, and easily my most used. Carries well, workhorse design and steel, and affordable. Add in Benchmade’s unrivaled warranty and it’s tough to beat. If you look around you can find the 20CV/G10 models for around $125. That’s just insane.

The Spyd. Native 5 with s35vn steel is one of the better choices in that size folder.

I don't recall the price off hand, but if you like Spydie's....for an ultra thin, super easy carry, sub 3", that looks good to boot....check out the Chaparral.

And at a bit under one bill, the 3" Massdrop Gent, and just over the C Note is the 2.9" Massdrop Falcon.

Spyderco Native. They come in many colors and different steels. Same can be said for all the Sage models. I'm a 4" guy, but the native is a great suit 'n tie carry, IMO.

If you don't already have it, and given your druthers, it's hard not to recommend the dealer exclusive Spyderco Dragonfly 2 Pakkawood. I'm still not sure who is and is not a forum sponsor so erring on the safe side and not posting a link. A bit over $100 but you already know the design is great.

Steel Will Mini Cutjack in D2 would be my pick. 3 inches, Flipper, nice blade profile, decent steel under 100$, liner lock.
Turned out to be a great suggestion!

As long as one doesn't have unreasonable expectations, this is a very satisfying flipper. Solid lockup and really nice fit and finish.
