Suggestions for a Nice Folder for XMAS Gift...Help Please.

If it were me I would give him a gift certificate from a good knife store like Cabella's, etc. and let him get what knife peaks his fancy. That way everyone will be happy. Merry knife buying! There are lots of brand new knives for sale on the Bladeforums for sale section, many unigue limited edition knives. Check it out,

Your buddy will love the Cold Steel Ultimate Hunter. Suitable for all his hobbies and work around the house...he can beat on it and abuse it, it'll take it.
It has no slippery titanium scales and the strongest lock on the market, very strong tip and excellent cutting geometry due to the hollow grind. Orange scales are perfect for hunting..also comes in black.

Knives we're not afraid to use or loose are the best tools for outdoors people.

As I first started reading this thread, this was the knife that came to my mind. Fine knife for an outdoors man, and a great value for the price. Probably better than a metal handled knife for use as a hunter (or anything else!). I use one of these in my rotation of outdoor working knives.

SAK

That way your gift does not have to "compete" with whatever other Hinderers, CRKs he might already have. It pretty much seems to me that all knife guys have practical uses for a SAK. ALOX appears nicer than the red plastic ones.

For about $200 or less I would get him 2 nice knives:

1. Kizer Begleiter 4458T2 titanium flipper knife, not the tanto one, but with the nice pointy tip.
Slightly shorter at 3.5” blade, but great knife for both EDC and for outdoors.

2. Kizer Harpoon fixed blade, great for hunting and outdoors, better than a folder.

ZT 0470. My favorite ZT. And I own 13 CRK folders. It's the closest to a medium Sebenza on bearings in that price point.

clip point or drop point would be great, blade that’s 3.75 to 4 inches….or close to that.
He’s an outdoor guy. Spends lotsa time hunting, fishing, shooting his guns and bow, yard work and other stuff. He’s not a sit around on the couch type.
My wife bought me a Buck 110 Hunter Sport for my birthday, and aside from the desire for titanium, it’d be an excellent choice. It’s definitely not your grandpa’s 110.
