Suggestions for a self defence and work purpose folder!

I have a smaller spyderco (either the endura or delica--can't remember which, but it's the smaller of the two). It's been a great all-round cutting tool, and easy to deploy with one hand, but I would expect the blade to just snap out of the handle if it struck anything hard, like, bone, for a hypothetical example.

Thoughts greatly appreciated..

Brent

Neither of those knives will snap out of the handle.
Try cutting some braches. Stab a tree.
If you want one in pristine shape, buy one and beat the hell out of it(keeping the one you already have in perfect shape). You'll be greatly surprised at how tough it is.:)
It won't cut like a two-handed sword or a machete, but I think you'll be greatly assured at the toughness.

Hey Stabm'

Thanks for the feedback on that point.

Actually, mine is really beat up from lots of use. I never thought to stick a tree, or hack at something tough like that. Huh! That would be a good test. Even better to know, without doing it myself, that it'll hold up.

Ok, I renew my affection for Spyderco, cause with the exception of that concern, it's been a great knife. Light, small enough to carry in my pocket even at work, where many sheeple go to bleet, yet with a big blade, relative to the handle size.

It's sharp, yet easy to sharpen, quick to deploy, even with light gloves on if clipped on the pocket.

Man, now I'm feeling tempted to get another Spyderco...and I just got my Hastings Sandshark the other day.

This hobby is addicting.
