Suggestions for beautiful EDC?

The William Henry knives are beautiful, and expensive. And quite thin. Fits in a pocket, but not the sort of thing to bounce around in a pocket.

But the BM690 is a stunner, especially in the various limited editions (dozens of versions). Thicker handle than the Wm. Henry knives, and significantly less expensive, from $120 up to several hundred for damascus blades. Great pocket clip. Think of it as a fancy EDC, not a "gentleman's knife." A very pretty workhorse.

Get a sure value, buy a Laguiole ! :)
Brands are numerous : Fontenille-Pataud, Forges de Laguiole...

Any other french traditionnal folder will be what you wish, and will be less known around than a Laguiole, thus drawing more interest.

I suggest you go for the knife that moves you. Once the money's been spent and for long after, you'll be gratified each and every time you reach for it.

In the end, that's what I decided to do. I decided to go with a William Henry T12 spearpoint with MOP, not because it was necessarily the best looking or the toughest of the knives I was considering, but because it was the only one that really spoke to me. There was just something about it...

Thanks for all the help and suggestions! I now have a few new sites bookmarked, and some new knives to think about for the future.

Chris
