Hey guys I want to start looking for a new pocket knife. I want it to be a blade of a good metal, metal pocket clip, non-serrated blade, locking, and a flip device. Flip device either thumb hole, thumb screw, or the assist on the sog I believe it was. Im looking at brands sog, spyderco, kershaw. I'm asking you guys cause I know you know your knives. I've owned one sog and one spyderco before liked both of them. I dont want to pay a whole lot probably $100.00 or less. I'd like to know you guys suggestions. Thanks for the help.

If you really want a flipper on your folder, Kershaw is absolutely the company you should check out. They have many good designs that use it. In particular, the JYD models get a lot of positive feedback. Otherwise, look at Spyderco. They offer something for just about everyone and will have a design that meets your needs.

It would help me and the other forumites if you could list more specifics about what you need. For example, dimensions, lock types, intended uses and so forth.

I say take a look at the SOG Vulcan. It really is a hell of a knife VG-10 steel, flipper and thumbstud, metal clip, and it has the arc lock. I have carried it everyday since I bought it. Thick blade but the hollow grind keeps it cutting efficiently. It is worth a look.

Can't go wrong with a Spyderco Delica4, or if you're looking for something a little dressier and slimmer, the Caly3 or the Centofante (3 or 4). The ZDP-189 Spydercos are also excellent deals, one of the hardest steels for a great price.

you dont have benchmade listed so Im going to suggest the bm 710--just cause im a benchmade guy=P. Take a look at this knife, you wont regret it=P

BenchMade HK14210 maybe.

STR

I second the Benchmade 710. Look at Benchmades with the axis lock--all are US-made and start around $50 for the mini-griptilian, but there are many choices in the $100 range.

Maybe....

Benchmade Mini-Griptilian

Spyderco Delica (suggest the current 4th version)

Kershaw Leek

Hope this helps

Well guys I looked at what you suggested theirs some I really like there. eojk to answer some of your questions, im not quite sure about dimensions, but I would like it to be thin to medium thickness nothing really thick. Uses just everyday carrying. I dont abuse knives though like some of the you-tube videos I just watched :) I love the liner lock of the kershaw, but really any lock you can close the knife one handed works fine. Im stuck on a couple though, the kershaw leek, and kershaw blur. Any of you guys that own them, is it annoying to have that safety lock??? Also the sog vulcan and sog Flash II. Whats your guys thoughts on these???

I would suggest a Waved Delica or Endura 4….much simpler and faster than any assisted knife.

I also really like the benchmade 551 griptilian, and the 710. So far it seems the best reviews are given on the benchmade and kershaws. Out of these three choices. I just dont no anywhere I can get my hands on a benchmade. Anyone know of a place in birmingham, Al.

When I saw you were the last post, glockcycloman, I knew what you wrote before I read it...And to realitycheck, glock's got good advice. I have 6 of them, and you won't be disappointed with the Cyclone or Mini Cyclone.

Because he is glockcycloman and people have bought them just on his word. As I said, I own 6, and couldn't be happier with them...I just wish I had 6 pockets in my jeans!

Really, a very good quality knife, good steel, AO, AO on/off option, tip up option, and Keshaw's first class customer service if you ever need it.
