Suggestions for the collection/What's Missing

I'd highly suggest a Zero Tolerance! 350, 566, or 562.

+1 on a traditional knife. Case or GEC.

Cold Steel Recon 1 or Ultimate Hunter.

For fixed, everyone should own a Mora, or two...

I'll also suggest a Becker or ESEE. I'd vote ESEE with G10 scales myself.

If you need more help spending your money, let me know :D

Hey everyone

This is the current state of the collection. Are there any knives that I'm missing that are a must have for the collection?

Folders I have/will have:
GB1
Pm3 m390
Pm3 cruwear
Southard
Ritter Grip/Grip m390/20cv with AWT scales

Fixed I have/will have:
Carothers Edc2
Dulo knives Fixed Blade

A Sebenza or Inkosi will broaden your horizons as to what amazing knife quality is. All the knives you have are excellent quality knives but owning and using a sebenza is like getting a masters degree in on knife appreciation because now you have something truly great to compare to.

Like a mountain climber might want to climb Everest to give him a new perspective on the mountains he climbs back home.

Every collection is not complete without a best piece,in this case Sebenza!

I would look at a ZT myself. But in general, it depends on what you like, what you use knives/blades for, are used to, and your long term objectives.

I'd add at least one Vic SAK and a multi-tool.

Maybe a good machete or two (thin one and stout one) if you have a house and/or property.

For myself, I never really had any long term objectives in terms of knife acquisition other than own a knife that I can use in most situations that come up in my life. I just get what I think I'll like and hopefully use. At this point, I have the bases covered and it is mostly what I think I'll like or want to try out.

Edited to better explain knife acquisitions.

What's missing is just a question about what you need.

90% of us could probably be perfectly fine with a Opinel and a Mora, maybe even just one of them. I know I could.

However I love the sheer amount of different knives available, so I've got about 40.

And my favorite might be the Mini Crooked River by Benchmade. If you're in the States you can even get them customized to an ridiculous degree, so yeah. You are missing that one.

It's been said already, a collection is personal. I've never considered consulting on what I should have. It's always been what I'm attracted to or interested in. Truth is most of us could get by just fine with one or two solid knives. Yet I have actually I dont know how many I own. My friends would say to many! I think a ZT is a good suggestion I only have 1 now a ZT0450, G&G Hawk make interesting knives to me I love my MUDD auto. Lately my work knife has been a CIVIVI. My collection has changed over the years as has my interest. There is so many great knives and lots of excellent makers. I suggest research what interest you and take it from there.

I will give some me advice for the folders only.

you have already most locking mechanisms: liner, frame, axis & compression locks -> a slip joint can be added

Same for the opening: flipper, spydie hole and thumb stud -> why not a thumb disk, an automatic or a wave?

For steel, you have focused on higher end stainless and carbon steel, maybe you can bring some variety here: s30v/s35vn are good for comparison, a good cheap 8cr13mov to appreciate the quality of what you have ;) some cruwear or zdp189 can be fine, some d2 or 420hc?
I like m390 a lot but other steels have their own quality too

For manufacturers, i think you can broaden your collection.
For American companies in the same price range, ZT is clearly missBig.
On higher price tag i would recommend a CRK, an olamic or an Hinderer
Outside of the USA, WE, lionsteel, Kizer...

If you want some recommendations on specific models, let me know

Couldn't have said it better myself, Therom. Variety is the spice of life. If legal, maybe consider a bali-song or automatic (a.k.a. switchblade)

How many of these get used regularly?

Why do you collect?

What do you use knives for and what different uses do you see in the future?

Do you think about collecting for collecting sake vs acquiring for different uses?

Not challenging you in any way but honestly have no idea how to give advice on a question like this.

I think it's just a matter of broadening out the knife accumulation. That's my read of the OP's initial post.
