suggestions on a new "work folder"....

There is also a "version" of the superknife that is available at Lowe's and Home Depot made by Sheffield. It is a lock back and does not require a tool for blade changes . . . they are $10 and pretty decent.
If you get the Native, I hope it works out well. Not to continue to stir the pot but if you want a heavy duty folder under $75, you may wanna consider the CRKT Grant Hawk D.O.G. too.

I agree with Jason on the Hawk DOG
If you liked the style of your old M16,
Try CRKT's Lightfoot M1 slightly similar style,
but much more heavy, a very stout knife.
Both models are AUS8 too!

If you like the design of your M16-12Z, you might consider a regular M16 (with aluminum frame). Its AUS 8 blade should hold an edge longer than your AUS 6M, but still be easy to sharpen. You can probably pick one up on Ebay for about $40 or $45 including shipping.

hmmm.. 75 bucks or less? how bout your teeth!!

if i had to pay any more than that, i'd expect my company to pay for it! the work i do with my knife saves them time and materials, and i'm not expected to carry one, so at $75.00, they should be so lucky! ;)
