I would like to use a stainless steel for folders that does not require cryo as part of the HT. I have an Evenheat and can hit temps, but am making the knives in Mexico and sending out for cryo is not feasible. Also using the knives in and around saltwater on a daily basis. Thanks.

you could probably do the cryo yourself with some simple tools.

I cant think of anything off the top of my head.

The stainless steels don't " require" cryo. You can get 1-2 HRc points harder with cryo but many a blade has been HT'd without cryo and worked fine.Just make sure you don't overheat them.As for a good steel you have choices such as 154CM, 440C etc.

Sandvic's 19c27 is simple requires no cyro and makes a good blade. I have done several and they came out well.
