I attended a hammer in at Randy Haas's house and we were forging some damascus. I decided i wanted to make a sujihiki,(Japanese meat slicing knife) and got cracking on it. Cleaned up profile

Rough layout of the handle. This was a huge PITA! There are quite a few hidden pins, and the back of the frame interlocks with the buttcap assembly.

Mostly finished product. I will add, copper and musk ok horn together are the biggest pita ever. Copper get's real hot, real fast. Musk ox horn burns easily lol. So it took about a week to finish grind the handle. But here it is

The metal frame and spacers are also damascus, and are now etched. Need to install the copper corbies. I will update when i get a few final touches finished :)

I've been waiting for this one to finish since you started it. It's been what, 2 decades now????

Seriously, that's killer.

Thanks guys!! Nick, i have every intention of sending this one out for a photo shoot. I am pretty happy with how this one is looking :)

I agree with Nick, this is outstanding and really deserves a pro photo followed a submission to one or more of the mags.
