Summer Brews

The hoppier the better. I'm an IPA guy.
Recently I have really been enjoying Deviant Dales.

Sam Adams Porch Rocker on a hot day, very nice.

I'll have to try that Blonde Newcastle, love the brown.

Cold with Yeast, Barley and Hops is good :D

It's been fairly hot in South Georgia over the last few days. The heat index has been well over 100*F, and, with the high humidity, going outside is like walking into a sauna. Many of us, however, don't have a choice..... So, when your drawers and socks are wringing wet after a long day in the sun, what ice cold brew helps cool you down??? Lately, I have been drinking Strongbow cider and Newcastle Bombshell blonde ale. GOOD STUFF!!!

Gotta love that Blonde Bombshell!!

Not a fan of "Summer" brews. Enjoyed a few Duck Rabbit Milk Stouts on the deck yesterday evening. Today, who knows.

I could go for a few White Russians. Always refreshing on a hot day.

White Russians are pretty tasty, and I've been known to throw a few back. On a long, hot day I prefer an ice cold beer. I'm partial to Leinenkugels Summer Shandy or Yuengling Lager. If I'm out with friends, I'm typically willing to try something from a local distillery. I've stumbled away from a few really great beers that are made in this area that way. :D

I'm also not a fan of summer brews, for me I like my beer as dark/strong as possible. I'm a sucker for Russian Imperial Stouts, Scotch Ale/Wee Heavy, Oatmeal Stouts, Porters,

My favorites are Founder's Dirty Bastard (Scotch Ale/Wee Heavy), North Coast Old Rasputin (Russian Imperial Stout), Great Divide Brewing Co. Yeti (Imperial Stout), Bell's Porter, Great Divide BC Claymore Scotch Ale, Odell Brewing Co. Cutthroat Porter.

As you can tell, only micro brews will do the trick for me..... ;)

Great..now I have to go watch the Big Lebowski! But White Russians are great.

I got tired of Summer Shandy last summer after drinking too much of it and now drink mainly Strongbow and Hoegaarden (both pretty sweet. I hate hoppy, bitter dark beers)

Bell's Oberon and Founder's All Day IPA. Good choices for a hot Georgia day!!!...But, I did have black coffee for breakfast.:)

I spend most of my money on guns, knives and beer. The rest of it gets wasted.

The last couple of weeks I've been enjoying Deschutes River Ale. Not as wimpy as a lager, but not as hoppy as an IPA. Pretty balanced. It starts off a bit sweet with just enough of a hoppy finish to bring it all together. Overall very refreshing in 100 degree plus weather.

The Genius of Benjamin Franklin is without question. One of my favorite quotes from Ol' Ben is this one:

"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."
