Sun Fish vs. Elephant Toe

Ya done good on Don's knife Elliott. Glad you got it, since I was being tempted. :D.

I lucked out at Blade finding an XX era in bone. Nicest one I have seen that old with original finish and nary a mark other than the typical blade rub you will find on Case sunfish.

I remember that knife well, Gus, since I was with you when you ran giddy like a girl to get it appraised from higher authority. :p Seriously though, that was a sweet knife and a great find.

And thanks for the good words. I may not have gotten the Hanson I was enthralled with at the Show, but it's a great start and won't be my last (is my guess).

I dig em.. anybody know the story why all the xx usa dots are marked 6250, but none had bone scales/covers?

Can anybody who has the Case version weigh it so I can compare it to my Hanson?

Thanks in advance.

They did make a lot of wood handled ones during part the dotted era (early to mid 70's part), but they may have made some in bone, just not 100% sure.

Blues, XX era weighs 5.98 ounces.

If I carried it with my baggy pants that show off my boxers, suspenders would be the word of the day for anyone around. :D.

Here is a good site for toenail information.

Thanks, Gus. That's quite svelte compared to the 9 1/8 oz. that the Hanson sports.

Guess I'll need suspenders AND a heavy belt. :p
