Wow. That is stunning. Do you have larger versions of these pictures?

A real experience watching the pics and vids here. The saya rollercoaster had a good ending. Nice Wood :D Felt very bad about the first block of black walnut. Roger, your heart must have sank. Having said that, the vids were quite engaging as Stuart "peeled back the onion" on it.

I was enjoying eyeballing the steel and fulfilling my hamon fetish when Stuart punches me in the nose way out there in post #53..."Steel is W2 (DHIII's)". I didn't see it coming and as I worship at the alter of all things Hanson that rocked my world.

Can't wait to see what Coop does with this. Thanks Roger and Stuart! Super score Roger

Outstanding/beautiful work..! and alot to be learned from
re-reading here...

Don - sorry, these are the only photos I have for now. Coop will give us all a better look in a couple weeks when he has cleared is editing an mailing from the New York show. I'll add them to this thread when complete.

Surreal work Stuart. I am in awe of your talent.
Roger congrats on an heirloom piece. (will you adopt me?)

As promised, here are the pics from Coop. This was a challenging shoot, but I sure think it all turned out exceptionally well:

I don't know what it is about Japanese bladeware that I like soooo much! The grace, power, the art of all the components, the skill sets to complete a truly magnificent example of this type of blade. This has it all and then some! Thank you to all concerned with this project and sharing it with us all.
One thing I would like to know is what material is being used for the tabs under the tsuka ito.
Cheers Keith

Great shots Coop!!! Thanks Roger!!

Keith, they are wrapping/packaging paper from an order from Namikawa. In this case, as per the instructions in Thomas Buck's book, I folded the paper 6 times. I cut them into squares about 1cm x 1cm and folded the top like the start of a paper airplane.

Tremendous piece! Coop made it shine for those of us who don't have it displayed in our living room. :grumpy: :D Way to go Stuart and Roger.
