I recently discovered the monthly knife subscription run by sun blades. I was wondering if it is a good idea to try it. I was looking to get a few beater knives to do some dirty work. I also like the surprise. Does anyone have this service or, does anyone know of the quality of the blades they put out through this service?

I do not have the service, but the knives are clearly garbage. Absolute garbage.
 
Yeah definitely agree. Especially looking at those prices, there are some great, affordable and quality options for around the same price point.

Yeah and definitely not to call your taste into question either! If you're looking for a good beater I would start a thread over in the general discussion area. Just describe your budget and what you're looking for and you'll get a ton of really great recommendations!

At first, i though they looked similar to Mtech knives. Scroll down abit and some actually are Mtech or Tacforce or other flea market brands. You may be able to find them cheaper elsewhere.

Plenty of other brands offer inexpensive yet higher quality products. Kershaw, Spyderco/ Bryd, Ontario, Opinel , Svord just to name a few.
