GEC may cut some parts. I've wondered about some the knives. The factory tour shows many of the parts being punched out. The way GEC does the blade grinds is particularly interesting to me. The process looks so crude but the results are some of the best grinds on regular production knives, particularly the medium and larger blades. Must require some skilled labor.
GEC Factory Tour:
Case also punches out parts for their regular production knives.
Case factory tour:
The Case Bose knives are cut by wire EDM. I don't know the details but the grinds and swedges must also be cut by machine. There's no way that they were ground by hand. They are too exact. The grinds and swedges are gorgeous. Love these blades!
Queens regular production knives are also punched out.
Queen factory tour:
But I've heard the Cattle parts were cut out. Also the grinds are the best that I've seen from Queen. I suspect they must also be machine made.
Nice knives! Thanks for bringing these back up. This is a rare case where I prefer MOP to Black Lip. Only thing I wish was different was I wish the carved area was somehow moved to the middle so the pin did not have to go through it. It is distracting to me. But c'est la vie! Still, I think these are very nice knives.
