FYI - Bawanna can do an unbelievable handle checkering job, and Pugs can make some beautiful pants for it; hopefully, made of beaver...:)
Yep! We got first class crafstmanship all over this place:thumbup:

Bawanna, sheath is one of the best simple but elegant design. Also, I like the modify wooden handle like Colts 1911 hand grip.
Just carrying it along with the dirty raw denim on the back pocket. We may call that as Texas style.

Mine tells me the same thing, but shes gotten good at holding out until too late. Now I just talk faster and louder. It speeds things up. :D :thumbup:

mine just says" it's your money to do with as you please, you had to work for it, not me" O_O. kinda makes me nervous, she cares, but doesnt at the same time.lol

Thats exactly what mine says! Problem is when shes out of "her" money three days from payday then shes into "my" money. Shes ok with it till I have to cut her off from "our" money (formerly "my" money). At that point if I buy a Khuk then she gets upset. Thats usually when all the good stuff like Buras etc. come up for sale and I go to the doghouse for spending "her" money (formerly "our" money) on a Khuk. So I can do with it what I please as long as it fits this cycle:confused:

LoL NDog, Every couple works out a financial plan that works for them and in general that is all that matters.
Hubby and I have worked out the agreement that what's mine is mine and what's his is ours. It works for us. Usually because the things I choose to buy with "ours" is stuff he want's too :D just like all the HI blades are "MINE" but I see him carrying all but the IBBB around regularly. My IBBB is special and he doesn't mess with that one.

is that a lok IBBB? or bhakta? his mark looks almost just like loks from that angle if it is bhakta

Gehazi, it was one of the "longer" latest batch of IBBBs I believe Auntie said they were by Bhakta when I ordered it from her. But I really don't know. The mark is very definately a trident.

trident is definitely lok=-- bhakta has never failed to use the bow strung with arrow-- lucky get on that, rare maker for the style

I thought Lok was a fish. Am I wrong?
I have a 15" BAS with a fish as the Kami mark. Auntie told me it was done by Lok.

I believe it was a new Kami working under Bhakta at the time. He didnt work there very long and went his way. Maybe when Bawanna gets back he can elaborate but you definitely got a rare one Shavru.

hmm I could be wrong, even in uncle's day they had trouble with kami symbols , save for bura, sher , very clear there-- but the trident is a long working well known kami-- the fish I believe is a different kami, it could be lokendra, or I could have it backwards? we need a new kami mark thread

Bura= crescent vertical
Dil= crescent horizontal
Durba= nepal flag horizontal
Murali= nepal flag vertical
Sher= sun full/ half sun
Keshar lal= took bura's crescent ; but was 6 pointed star before ( with two forks?)
Sanu= christian style cross
Bhakta= bow with arrow notched
Raj Kumar= two mountains side to side
Kumar= six pointed star
Yuvraj=flame/torch
Lachhu=8 rayed sun
Lok= fish(?)
Lokendra=(?)
khadka= ?
padam= spear
shankar= trident
Vim= nepal flag vertical
Anil= nepal flag vertical

add or take from this list

The IBBB that I got was also marked with the trident/trisul mark, just like Shavru's. Yangdu at the time said that all of the AK Bowies were only made by Bhakta, but it's clear that a few of these IBBBs were not. Unfortunately, my IBBB was not up to the same quality of fit and finish as the other AK Bowies that I got that were made by Bhakta and had his bow & arrow mark. But the problems were not severe enough for me to want to return it (it's just sooo cute).

Gehazi, just to throw another wrench in the mix, Vim also uses the Nepali flag and also Anil, who we seldom see knives from but he also uses it. I think he is Keshar Lal's son. I have an R-10 by Anil with the flag mark.

What I've observed about Bhakta's work is that his quality is very consistent. He doesn't do the fancy, artistic stuff like Rajkumar, but a Bhakta blade is almost certain to be near-perfect. In particular, his fullers are always deep and sharply defined, which is one of the main differences between HI blades and other kinds of knives that one finds on Bladeforums, including some that are much more expensive.

The old Kami who used the trident mark was Shankar. I think he has been gone a long time. Not sure who the new Kami using it is.

Also the new Kami Padam uses a spear mark.

There was a Tilak Kami and another Kumar Kami that worked about that time but I think they working under Vim. Maybe they did some work with Bhakta as well. Mystery to me?

PK977, Bawanna did the checkering on my blades grip. The sheath is made by Pugs and he used beaver tail to make it.
