Sundays Hike - Redwoods,Bugs,Plants,Batoning,Fire...PIC heavy

Went on a hike Sunday. Took some pics of the native plants, waterfalls, and bugs. Did a little batoning with my GW and RMD and made a little fire with some pitch, Tinder quik and firesteel.

Biggest dam poison oak vine Ive ever seen.

Did some batoning and figured after all that work that I might as well use all the wood for something. Both the RMD and GW performed extremely well for small blades.

Batoned through this 6 foot section with relative ease.

those are some great pics nate...:thumbup: looks a lot like my neck of the woods...

i've seen a few huge poison oak vines like that one... pretty gnarly stuff...

I am incredibly alergic:grumpy: But you have some beautiful terrain up there. I have been through Redwood NP when I was a kid.

We hunt this land a little higher up. This is part of a big Ranch that a friend owns.
