I had contact with Jay back in August; he responded pretty quickly to my questions, and the cost seemed reasonable. I haven't budgeted the work yet, but I have a Becker BK-7 I plan to have Jay work on for me.
Before you do any business with Jay, I'd take a look at 'The Good Bad & Ugly' forum. There seems to be some issues out there with how certain types of work are presented on his website (regarding kit knives). For me, having a knife re-handled would be acceptable, but I don't if I'd buy any of his folders.
Personally, I'd do business with, if only on a limited basis. You'll have to come to your own conclusions, though.
Part of why I joined the forums here was the fact that you can find out a lot of information, very quickly, about almost any knifemaker, manufacturer, etc.
I hope this was of some help to you -
